The following was written in personal devotion during a difficult time of darkness, sin and trial. I used the literary style of writing to myself from Jesus’ perspective to process my feelings and receive encouragement from the Lord.
This is not direct revelation, but I do believe it to be based in Scripture. That said, be discerning.
Also, my name’s not Aaron. But maybe yours is?
My hope is that this reminds you that Jesus the Good Shepherd is on your side and loves you so much. And I hope it touches you as much as it has me. Your tears and your heart are seen, friend.
Aaron,
Your pain is accomplishing something. Don’t be afraid. I’ve got you. Trust me! Hold still, Aaron. Like an animal caught in barbed wire, I can’t help you while you are thrashing about. I am ready to heal you, let’s take it one step at a time. Let’s get you out of this barbed wire. I will save you from that and then I can begin healing you. Son, you will be healed. It’s only a matter of time. Just hang on! The road may seem like it’s daunting but soon you’ll see that it’s not. This is preparing you for the challenges ahead. Yes, you are sinning against me but I’m not wasting it. I have great plans for you, my son. I love your tender heart. It is a blessing, and it makes things hard, but remember, my strength in you is perfected in weakness. Just take a step at a time, listening to my voice, calling you out of darkness into light. I will lead you to still waters and green pastures on earth, this is a glimpse of what it will be like in eternity. I love you, son, more than anyone else has or will. Remember that. You’re safe. You’re secure. I am your good shepherd and I will not forsake you. I went to the cross so that I could do this and I could have you.
Your friend, your Lord, your Savior,
Jesus
